Internship Program
There are two types of internships generally available in the HHS Office on Women's Health (OWH): paid and unpaid.
OWH's former paid internship program has been replaced by the Pathways Program.
When positions for students or recent graduates are available through the Pathways Program they will be listed on USAJOBS. When searching by agency, OWH is part of the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health in the Department of Health and Human Services.
Unpaid internships may be available for student volunteers in OWH. Student volunteer work may be performed during the school year and/or during summer or school vacation periods. You must currently be enrolled at least half-time in high school/GED, vocational, technical, undergraduate, graduate or professional programs. The unpaid internship may fulfill degree requirements depending on the specific requirements of your school. Volunteer internships typically last 3 – 4 months. Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program
For more than three decades, the PMF Program has been the Federal government's premier leadership development program for people who have recently completed graduate school. This program is now for individuals who have received a qualifying advanced degree within the preceding two years. This is a two-year career development program (under certain circumstances it could be longer). Students who successfully complete the program may be eligible for conversion to a permanent job in the civil service. Additional information about the PMF program.
